We Are Spartans!

Several dot818 staffers ran in the Los Angeles Spartan Sprint this past Saturday as part of a team-building activity.

Dot818 competed in the Los Angeles Spartan Sprint over the weekend. The 5.2-mile race was filled with 24 challenging obstacles. We were faced with seven-foot walls, monkey bars, and a rope rappel, just to name a few. One of the hardest obstacles required each of us to fill a five-gallon bucket with rocks and then carry it up and down a steep hill.

We raced as a team and helped each other through the obstacles. It was a great team-building event and each of us also learned something about ourselves during the race.

“When you’re pushed to the limit, you’d be surprised what you can do.”

Cindy-Jo de la Rosa Cometa

“Don’t ever say you can’t finish because sometimes you just need to pace yourself and you will get through it!”

Brandi Hassell

“Doing something like the Spartan race can make us realize that we are capable of more than we think we know, but we won’t ever find out unless we push ourselves to at least give it a shot.”

Gerald Lopez

“I had forgotten how good it feels to abandon caution; climb to the top of a tall, precarious structure; and swing my body down the other side.”

Michael Needham

We look forward to our next team-building activity ... even if we're still a little sore right now.
