Elvis may have left the building, but dot818’s own Gerald Lopez is picking up the slack. After a busy day at last week’s Lend360 conference, Gerald let loose and sang a cover of Elvis Presley’s It’s Now or Never at a karaoke-cocktail party. Check out the video below.
Elvis’s version of the song sold over 20 million records, making it the top-selling single of Elvis’s career. The inspiration for the song came when Elvis heard Tony Martin’s There’s No Tomorrow and wanted to record a similar piece. He told his music publisher to make it happen and the job was farmed out to songwriters Aaron Schroeder and Wally Gold who wrote the song in 30 minutes, borrowing from both Martin’s single and the Neapolitan standard O Sole Mio.
